The forming process of automobile panel is very complex, and it is easy to cause problems based on experience of die design. However,the forming defects can be predicted by professional forming analysis software, therefore, the design process is optimized and product quality is improved. For front longitudinal beam outer plate, the forming process was carried out, and the forming process was simulated by PAM-STAMP software based on experiment process. According to the simulation results, the type and position of the forming defects were obtained, and the process addendum surface was optimized to eliminate the defects. Based on the optimized results, the simulation process was analyzed, and the regulations of material thickness and blank holder force were given. Therefore, the process parameters were optimized and the optimum project was determined. Furthermore, the drawing die was designed and the qualified product was produced,and the correctness and practicability of the simulation analysis were verified.
