Abstract:
In this paper, FEM is used to simulate the upsetting processes for a cylindrical billet and a concave billet respectively. With the simulation results, it is obtained of the loading paths of several typica1 points in the deformation zone, and the reason is also obtained why concave billet is not easy to be fractured in the outer surface during the upsetting processes.
