Abstract:

How to create an exact finite element model of the weld bead is an urgent issue that needs to be solved during numerical simulation research of TWB.The tensile properties of parent metal and TWB could be obtained by tensile test.Based on the equal-strain assumed condition and the force equilibrium condition equation,the mechanical properties of weld bead in TWB were obtained by computation.And four kinds of weld bead models were established in different ways.With the FEM software Dynaform,four kinds of weld bead models were used to simulate cupping test of TWB.Exact finite element model of the weld bead is proved to be useful by comparing the cupping value,the crack locality and major strains from simulation results and experiment.
