Abstract:
A mathematical model of surface of cross roller was established based on process.As a developing platform,VRML and Java were applied to analysis calculation of this mathematical model.A virtual design method of cross roller was realized using the computing ability of Java and the 3 dimensional(3D) modeling ability of VRML.The realizing approach of 3D scene of roller on Internet was presented.The parametric and interactive design of cross roller on web,through the External Authoring Interface(EAI),was discussed.Some examples of virtual design of cross roller were given.The method is also adapted to other roller,such as straightening roller and etc.The result provides an important reference for virtual design of other parts.
