Abstract:
A method to analyze springback of arbitrary section was proposed. The section curve was divided into many short sections based on curvature. Every short section was treated as an arc with certain radius. Springback of every arc was then calculated by traditional method. And then fix one point on the section curve,the arc after springback was assembled,thus the springback of the section curve was calculated out. An example to analyze the springback of five section curves of a B-pillar part was provided to verify this method. Negative springback and mechanism of twist were explained by this method.
