Abstract:
To achieve weight reducing,strength increasing and stiffness improving,tube hydroforming is now widely used in auto industry.In this paper,the hydroforming process for automobile front transom is analyzed by LS-DYNA program,which is developed on the basis of elastic-plastic finite element method.The effect of forming process parameters,such as internal pressure loading path and initial tube size are simulated and discussed.The comparison shows that the suitable initial tube size and loading path can observably improve the distribution of the thickness and forming limit of the tube.The FEA results can predict the deformation successfully.
