Abstract:

This paper deals with the hydroforming of square parabolic reflector. The deformation mechanics of square parabolic reflector with hydroforming is revealed. The factures occurred on forming process is studied. it has been classified in five types based on the fracture position and the stroke phases, and the mechanics of fracture is analyzed. It has been observed that the initial stage of hydraulic pressure, the blank holding force and the control mode of hydraulic pressure are key factors to prevent fractures. The required specimens were manufactured successfully and larger drawing ratio curves of hydroforming are obtained by experiments.
