Abstract:

Based on the basic theory of rigid-plastic finite element method (FEM), a three-dimensional dynamic FE simulation model of the whole process of spline cold roll forming was analyzed by means of a common three-dimensional finite element software Deform-3D V6.0. The force\|stroke curve,distribution of equivalent stress and equivalent strain of spline cold roll forming were obtained. The results show that the deformation mainly occurs in a certain range of the workpiece surface,and nearly no deformation occurs in the center zone.The maximum equivalent stress occurs in two-locations where the roll wheel and part contact, and the maximum equivalent strain occurs in alveolar of spline. The research provides the theoretical basis for study on spline cold forming process.
