Abstract:

Based on the theory analysis, a finite element method simulation was established to simulate three rollers forming and spring\|back effect for ITER correction coils. The deformation and distribution of stresses and the final radius after spring-back under different forming radius were gained. One set of equipment was designed, the forming processes of different radius were carried out on this equipment and the radius after spring-back were obtained. The results of experimentation were closed to the results of simulation, which validated the correction of simulation. The compensation of spring-back under different radius was determined on the basis of the experimentation and simulation. The research has a good instruction for the manufacturing of ITER correction coils.
