Abstract:

Front axle is one of the important safety parts for chassis system. The hot die forging process is mostly  adopted  to produce the front axle. Provided that the strength and fatigue requirement could be met, the bulk production for new type of product could be carried out through the fatigue and road test. Therefore, taking the consideration of the die forging press process design and production procedure control of front axle, the improved research of forging process of automatic production line for the front axle was introduced, such as design method of some key positions, machining tolerance and technical specifications, billet size, improvement in tooling design, reason confirming of tooling damage, and methods to raise die life, etc.. For the front axle producers, the processing database was set up through accumulating practical experiences which could increase the developing speed and production efficiency, keep good and stable quality and reduce the cost.
