Abstract:

Aiming to the physical characteristics of TB5 Ti alloy sheet metal parts with high strength, the finite element numerical simulation and test research of rubber high pressure cold forming for TB5 Ti alloy sheet metal parts were carried out by using soft ware PAM-STAMP. The solutions were investigated to eliminate the fault of wrinkling. The different forming forces, rubber hardnesses and friction coefficients were used to simulate the forming experiment. The different simulation results and forming parameters were obtained. And based on the simulation results, the rubber forming test of sheet metal parts was done. While considering the effect of side blank holder on forming, wedge anti-winkling block was added. The optimum parameters of main influencing factors such as unfold blank during rubber high pressure cold forming, die structure, forming pressure and so on, were determined finally by synthesizing test and simulation results, which provides effective reference data for the application of novel TB5 Ti alloy sheet metal on parts of airplane.
