Abstract:

The drawing process of automobile engine cover plate was researched and the finite element simulation of the drawing process was carried out by Dynaform. The defects such as wrinkles and cracks during forming were analyzed by numerical simulation, and preferable forming results were obtained by optimizing the process parameters. The maximum thinning rate is 29.2% and the maximum thickening rate is 7.8%, which meet the forming requirement. Then, the actual drawing test was carried out, the maximum thinning rate was 28.6% and the maximum thickening rate was 7.1%,comparison of thinning rate calculation between simulation and actual drawing tese was condwted. The results show that the simulation analysis is in agreement with the actual drawing test.
