Abstract:

For the drawing defects of the motorcycle fuel tank cover, the forming process of Double-Cover Forming (DCF) was simulated by Dynaform software, and the results show that sidewall wrinkling and local rupture are main defects. Two forming parameters of draw- bead height and blank holding force were analyzed and optimized by combining numerical simulation with Orthogonal Experiment Design (OED), and the analysis results indicate that it is effective to suppress the wrinkling defects by increasing the above two parameters properly. The part is formed with optimized parameters, and the results show that the overall forming uniformity is improved considerably. Therefore, forming quality is enhanced.
