Title:Research on numerical simulation of the incrementally pressing forming process

Abstract:

On the basis of single point incremental forming(SPIF), the incrementally pressing forming(IPF) process was presented by changing the punch trajectories. In order to understand the deformation mechanism of incrementally pressing forming process, for the typical cone cup as an example, the incremental forming process and incrementally pressing forming process were simulated. It was analyzed the variation features of the equivalent strain, wall thickness, strain and forming force. Then the machining experiments were processed, and the results of experiment were compared with the results of numerical simulation. The results show that in the uniform deformation area, the average wall thickness of forming parts produced by incrementally pressing forming that closer to the theoretical value is higher, the major strain is smaller and the forming force along the Z-direction is also weaker. The wall thickness variation in incrementally pressing forming is in accordance with the sine regularity, and the simulation results match the tests in wall thickness changing trend. Therefore, the accuracy of the simulation result is verified.
