Abstract:

 For the spur bevel gear made by forging aluminum material, its isothermal forging process and parameters optimization were studied. Finite element analysis model was established by Deform-3D, and the open-die forging process was simulated to obtain the metal flow and forming load. The key parameters (temperature, height of peel, peel thickness, radius and flash thickness) of forming process were optimized by the orthogonal test, and the influence of different parameters on the forming load was analyzed with the effective sequence of temperature, flash thickness, radius, height of peel and peel thickness. Furthermore, the single variable optimizations of punch velocity and friction coefficient were carried out respectively. Taken the smallest forming loading as the optimize object, the optimized technological coefficient for the gear without defects was obtained.
