Abstract:
A certain type of the wheel rim was redesigned to improve the impact resistance of spin casting aluminum alloy wheel and reduce the deformation of the inner rim, and a radial impact model of aluminum alloy wheel was established. Then, the force analysis was carried out based on the actual loading, and the deformation process of the wheel rim was simulated and verified by experiments. The results show that the decrease of the tilt angle of straight line segment and making the straight line with a hump by arc transition can decrease the stress of wheel well 6%, the deformation of inner rim more than 12% under the radial shock, thus the impact resistance of wheel is improved greatly. Meanwhile, the redesign of the wheel rim can also improve the strength of spinning parts, and its elongation is increaseed by more than 10%. The design method has been applied to the design of aluminum alloy casting hub.
