Title:Research on critical angle of uniform wall thickness in incremental forming with outer contour support for convex curved part of 1060 aluminum sheet

Abstract:


The critical angle of uniform wall thickness in the incremental forming with outer contour support for convex curved part of 1060 aluminum sheet was studied by finite element software ANSYS/LS-DYNA, and its finite element model was constructed. Then, the critical forming angle θ均匀 of uniform wall thickness for convex curved part in incremental forming with outer contour support  was researched by numerical simulation method, the physical experiment was carried out, and the experimental results verified the credibility of the simulation results. Furthermore, the influences of sheet thickness, tool head diameter and axial feeding on θ均匀 were analyzed. The results show that the θ均匀 increases gradually with the increasing of the sheet thickness and decreases with the increasing of the tool head diameter, and the axial feeding has little effect on θ均匀. At the same time, the wall thickness distributions of large-angle convex curved part were compared by different forming methods of single-pass, two-pass, three-pass up-bottom and three-pass bottom-up. The results find that the three-pass bottom-up method obtains the convex curved part with more uniform wall thickness.
