Abstract:

 Based on the professional finite element simulation software Simufact, the finite element analysis model of orbital riveting for hub bearing units was established, and the material flow, equivalent strain and equivalent stress at the end of 

flange shaft after riveting were calculated by setting the relevant process parameters. The simulation results show that the material flow at the end of the flange shaft flows smoothly without folding, and the distribution of equivalent strain and equivalent stress are almost the same. With the increasing of axial feed, the equivalent strain and equivalent stress values gradually increase, and the maximum value is at the contact area of upper die fillet near the flange. Thus, the orbital riveting process realizes the riveting of hub bearing units, expands the material at the flange end to form a flange, realizes the locking of bearing inner ring, and provides a reference for the connection and assembly of other ring components.
