Abstract:

  In order to meet the market demand for effectively manufacturing of single piece or small batches of personalized, diversified and large-scale sheet metal parts with three-dimensional curved surface, a new flexible forming technology, namely, curved surface roll-bending technology was developed, which used an upper flexible roll and two lower flexible rolls as forming tools and adjusted the axis shape of flexible roll in the vertical direction. The sheet metal parts were bent in both longitudinal and transverse directions simultaneously by the rotation of flexible rolls to realize continuous forming. Then, the principle and experimental device of curved surface roll-bending process were introduced, and the forming experiments of typical hyperboloid parts such as saddle part and convex part were conducted. Furthermore, the experiment results were measured and analyzed by a binocular stereo vision measurement system, and the change laws for forming accuracy, smoothness and thickness of formed curved surface parts were analyzed. The results show that the formed curved surface part has good precision, and the formed curved surface is in good agreement with the required curved surface shape to provide a certain reference for the development and design of curved surface roll-forming process.
