The effects of forging temperature and forged cooling way on the microstructure and mechanical properties of TC21 titanium alloy die forgings were investigated. The results show that the tri\|modal microstructure which consists of a small amount of equiaxed α phase, a large number of basketweave α phase and a small amount of residual β phase is obtained by near β forging process(heat and deform below 10-15℃ of β/(α+β)transition) used in production of TC21 titanium alloy die forgings. With excellent properties at high temperature, the microstructure maintains good properties at room temperature.
