The three-layer flat extrusion container of 36 MN magnesium extrusion press was designed, and its three dimensional finite element model was established by using finite element software MSC.Marc. The inner lining, middle lining and outer jacket were defined as deformable contact body with interference of each layer matching diameter of 2‰, and considering the temperature effect,the flat extrusion container stress field in fitting and working was obtained. The results show that the max equivalent stress in fitting and working is 906.7 and 531.6 MPa respectively, which meets the strength requirement. In the working, each layer stress is closed ,and the structure size is reasonable. The research method can be applied to large flat extrusion container design.
