For optimizing the mold structure and reducing defects, stress, strain and load for the anti-extrusion process of bearing ring were presented. Taking a model as an example, Deform was used for numerical simulation. Relationship between different punch chamfers, thicknesses of material core and punch load were compared. The results indicate that punch load can obtain the minimum value when chamfer is of 4 mm and can be increased significantly when the thickness of material core is less than 75 mm. Actual production show that using simulation parameters to design mold can get a good forgings, so this method can provide a reference for mold design, especially more useful for the stainless steel which is easy to have forging cracks .
