In order to clarify some basic rules of splitting extrusion deformation, taking 10mm width of rectangular groove with the depth range of 5 to 15mm as the research object, the deformation process of splitting extrusion by cusp splitting wedge with 60° splitting angle and 30° splitting edge angle was studied using the method of numerical simulation and physical simulation. The results show that when the depth of the groove is small, there is a smaller influence on the sunk angle length. And when the depth is larger, it gains much more quickly with the increase of the depth of the groove. The starting length and the maximum grooveside swelling height change in a linear relationship as the depth of the groove rises. When the depth of the groove is small, the influence width gains much more quickly with the increase of the depth of the groove. However, when the depth is larger, it gains slower. As the increase of depth of groove, influence depth of groove bottom also increases.
