Forming process of solid steel V-belt pulley was researched through spinning principle analysis and roller design. A new forming process of four-step hot forming technology based on spinning was proposed, and the FEM software Deform-3D was adopted to simulate the deformation process, so as to analyse the influence of the roller shape, feed and feed ratio on the spinning quality, equivalent strain, stress, forming load, and the axial compression force. The results show that the designed forming process, roller shape and process parameters are reasonable and practical. The forge piece is formed with uniform deformation, high quality and a small forming load. The roller shape and feed ratio are principle factors in forming among all the process parameters.
