Electric heating alloy ingots Cr20Ni80 were heated by gas furnace and resistance furnace and forged billet was analyzed comparatively in the same process parameters, including macro-morphology, microstructure, impurity levels and surface oxidation layer and so on. The results show that there is no influence on the internal quality of the product using different heating methods under the same heating process parameters, but forging after the resistance furnace heating, not only can reduce production costs and energy consumption, but also is conducive to the production process to reduce metal loss, improve product surface quality.
