Firstly, it was introduced that the characteristics of the technologies used to process precise contour parts, including cutting-extruding trimming technology, fine blanking with plane blankholder and fine blanking with gear ring blankholder. The technical highlights of fine blanking, stamping and fine blanking, and combined extruding forming process were also analyzed. For materials with low plasticity and the thick plates that difficulty in forming, the technical characteristics of opposed die fine blanking, reciprocating fine blanking and closed extruding fine blanking were introduced respectively, and the future development tendency of fine blanking technology was prospected, which indicated that fine blanking parts would develop towards a more complex and difficult forming direction. Meanwhile, for the new fine blanking materials, intelligentization and automation technology of fine blanking would be extensively used in the industry. Finally, the research emphases of fine blanking technology were put forward, which would be FEM simulation, digitization design, fine blanking aided process and industrialization of new fine blanking.
