Abstract:
The FEM software CASFORM for bulk forming processes and its several key technologies were introduced briefly in this paper. Many examples were given to demonstrate the reliability of the software. CASFORM consists of pre\|processor, finite element analysis module, post\|processor, automatic mesh generator, remeshing module, material database, and simulation database. It can be used to simulate various bulk forming processes such as forging, extrusion, drawing et al. It can be used to verify the process and die design before manufacturing dies. It can be used to simulate the isothermal and non\|isothermal forming processes. It is also used to simulate the single stage forming processes and multi\|stage forming processes. CASFORM has friendly user interfaces, high reliability and automation. It provides a powerful tool for process and die design of bulk forming.
