Abstract:
Two major technical parameters in the shaping process of necking, which are the necking force and dimension, are analyzed by using the major stress and energy methods. The engineering formula of the two parameters is derivated on the failure conditions of the inflectional instability of axial symmetry. The results are very valuable to determine the process of contracting mouth.
