Abstract：

It is the general trend that oil and natural gas transmission pipelines will be constructed all with longitudinally SAW pipeUOE is a process of making longitudinally SAW line pipe with steel plate,the pipe is superior in quality and reliability,and has a wide range of diameter and wall thick.This paper presents UOE processBased on the requirements for longitudinally SAW pipe in the early 21st century,the status of line pipe manufacture in our country,the foundation of our metallurgical industry and heavy machine manufacturing industry,some R&D suggestions related to the construction of the first national process line of UOE longitudinally SAW pipe is put forward
