Abstract:
Temperature and thermal stress fields of multilayer flat container for extruding aluminum sheet with flange have been simulated by elastic FEM under different heating condition and shrink fitting range. The results show that 3 layer or 4 layer flat container of hole size 850mm×250mm with middle heating ring has more unifomal temperature distribution than that without middle heating ring. The highest thermal stress caused by non uniformal temperature distribution in 4 layer flat container of hole size 850mm×250mm is over 500MPa, the maximum equivalent thermal stress in the container can be reduced more or less by adding middle heating ring
