Abstract:
In this paper,rigid viscoplastic finite element method is used to solve the stress field of cylinder during upsetting between two flat platens.The stress height reduction curves of different initial ratios of H 0to D 0 were obtained. It was discovered: in the center of cylinder,there is two dimensional tensile stress during upsetting,and when height versus diameter ratio is about 1.0,σ r and σ θ of cylinder center turn from tensile stress to compressive stress.
