Abstract:
A new upper bound model is proposed for extrusion/drawing processes through conical die. The proposed model according to upper bound approach covers all of the situations in which the entry and exit boundaries of deformation zone are assumed to be conical. The influences of the process parameters on the extrusion/drawing processes through conical die are revealed by using the model through the proper numarical methods and minimization technique. The forming of the dead zone and work-hardening can be taken into consideration by the model presented in the paper.
