Abstract:
—Various factors effecting the depth of cup in Erichsen tests and the ways to reduce the scatter among test data are analysed in detail. The depth (Hp) of t he punch going into sheet metal at maximum punch force and the difference between it and Erichsen value((?).I(?) H(?).are introduced to evaluate the deformation ability of sheet metal before and after load insta bility separately. Suggestions to revise Erichsen cupping test are presented at last.
