Abstract:
A new technique was presented, which was able to localize the plastic deformation on the surface of the billet and refine the surface grains after recrystallization annealing through the ball milling.FEM was employed to simulate the process on the surface of Q235 billet and obtain the strain regularity, which proved that the ball milling could realize the surface plastic deformation. The metallography after the ball milling and the recrystallization annealing were also observed. The results indicate that the ball milling will realize the surface plastic deformation and the compound microstructures that are fine grains on the surface and the coarse grains in the center after the recrystallization annealing are obtained.
