Abstract:
In this paper, a more convenient and practical method of solving the problems of axisymmetric extrusion through conical die was presented. The steady-state flow-pattern of the problems was simulated with a function of derivative continuity and was optimized to satisfty its boundary condition and to minimize the total energy. Based on the optimum flow-pattern, the velocity discontinuities can be eliminated completely in the admissible velocity field.
