Abstract:
Temperature variation is an important factor affecting ring rolling process. In the present paper, a thermal finite element model is proposed to analyze the temperature distribution in continuous multi-pass ring rolling process, while considering the different characteristics of heat transfer in deformation and non-deformation zones. The model is very useful in practical ring rolling production analysis and can find application in other rolling processes like strip and plate rolling etc.
