Abstract:
According to the process characteristics of cross wedge rolling,the rotation formula for big end radius of spiral declined cone,changed with rotation angle of rolled piece,was derived. A new algorithm for calculating the volume of the declined cone was presented and volume formula for each stage during the process of shaping was obtained. Based on the principle of volume balance,shaping curve of right-angle step for two-roll cross wedge rolling was got. The curve expression was very concise and convenient for application. At last,the shapping process was simulated by using the rigid-plastic FEM software Deform-3D under the condition of different percentage reduction of area. The simulation achieved good results which verified that the shaping curve was correct.
