Abstract:
Influence of different reduction on lateral spread after flat rolling of 304 austenite stainless steel rods at room temperature was investigated. Also, microstructure and microhardness were analyzed and distribution of strain during rolling was discussed. It shows that under this condition, when reduction rate Δh/h0 is less than 58.9%, the spread changes markedly, which is expressed by linear relation with reduction ratio increases, and the spread changes slowly when there is a severe deformation. Moreover, the changes of microstructure and microhardness become homogeneous with reduction increases, indicating deformation tends towards uniformity gradually.
