Abstract:
Blank-hold surface is an important part of process supplement, which remarkably influences the deep drawing of auto body panel. The numerical method was performed to investigate the effect of local convex cylindrical blank-hold surface on square box part deep drawing, and the strain distribution law in the blank was accordingly discussed. Numerical results show that the shape of blank-hold surface greatly determines the stress state of deformation region in the blank, and the deformation flow pattern can be controlled by adjusting the shape of blank-hold surface. The local convex cylindrical blank-hold surface plays a positive role in improving the local compressive stress state induced in the blank, thus resulting in wrinkle suppression and enhanced formability.
