Abstract：

The principle and method of computer aided three dimensional(3D) graphic approach,based on surface modeling and solid modeling of 3D CAD,were discussed.The application of this approach in design of space mechanism,forming tool and roller was presented.As compared with the traditional graphic approach and two dimensional(2D) graphic approach,the 3D graphic approach has the features of rapid solution,accurate result and visual process.It can be widely used in other engineering areas.
