Abstract:
A simple and practical device was developed for hydraulic bulging of a tube on a single action press.The free hydraulic bulging,the bulging with axial feed and the manufacturing of hollow parts with various shapes from thin-walled metal tubes can be performed by the new device.Without the need of complicate external hydraulic source,the internal hydraulic pressure and axial force on the tube can be obtained automatically by extruding the liquid in a cylinder by an actuating piston and the load path can be achieved by properly designing the cylinder and the piston stroke.The primary experimental results reveal that the device features simple structure,convenient operation and reliable work,and the forming ability of tubes can be improved greatly under a reasonable load path.
