Abstract:
The cupping test and forming limit test were done for the tailor welded blanks(TWBs)of different thicknesses.The results show that wrinkles and cracks almost occur in the thinner side,which indicates that the strength of the welding-line increases but the deformation resistance of that position decreases.Moreover,DYNAFORM software was used to simulate the formability of the front floor part.From the simulation,the thinner side of the TWBs possessed the bigger area and the weld-line did not remove,but the possible cracks and the maximum thinning positions always occured at the thinner side.So it is important to make formability analysis of the weld-line while analyzing the part made of TWBs.
