Abstract:
Through numerical simulation and experiment,the general flowing law of metal in extrusion forming process of the tube with flange was revealed.The results show that volume remains the same during the process of metal flowing.When the space of metal flowing increases,the direction of metal flowing parallels with the mold wall where the resistance is the smallest.The metal becomes adhesive when extruding the billet below re-crystallize temperature.The out surface of metal sticks to the mold and the inside metal forces the top die,which leads to the wrapping phenomenon.The rate of wrapping phenomenon can be reduced by increasing the temperature and decreasing the extruding force.Via a proper billet temperature and the die-structure designing,the optimum forming of the tube can be delivered.
