Abstract:

The forging of rotating seat was applied to study the mechanism of defects happened in isothermal forging of aluminum alloy disk forging with complex shape by combining experiment with FEM(finite element method).The results show that the flow velocity of metal in radial direction can be controlled by using backward extrusion,which can prevent radial folding and fibre breaking of aluminum alloy disk forging with complex shape.The irrational distribution of metal in different regions of billet will result in under filling or convective folding because of lacking metal in local region,or will result in folding because of superabundance metal in local region.In upsetting,increasing friction resistance between bar and moulds and deformation ratio can make the flow lines distribute well along the billet,which can gain forging with rational distributed flow lines.
