Abstract:

Crack and wrinkle are the main defects in stamping process.The reasonable arrangement of draw beads can decrease the defects and improve the forming quality.The combination of orthogonal design of experiments method with FEM simulation was applied to optimize the arrangement of draw beads,taking drawbeads' restraining forces as design parameters and the distribution of thickness as objective function.The method was validated to simulate the drawing problem in NUMISHEET'93 case-front fender Nissan's Infiniti J30.The results show that the forming quality gets better by decreasing crack and wrinkle,and the method is efficient due to the minimized simulation cycles.
