Abstract:
The microstructure evolution of 7A04 alloy made by SIMA method in semi-sold thixoforging process was studied.The results show that the grains are grown up and sphericized with the temperature increase and isothermal holding time prolongation during reheating in semi-solid state.Moreover,the heating temperature has a large influence on the reheating microstructure than that of isothermal holding time.When the billets with the same reheating microstructure are thixoforged,it is found that the microstructure of thixoforging parts is closely related to the reheating microstructure.And when the thixoforging temperature is over 600 ℃,the microstructure of thixoforging parts has a little change and held fine spherical grains.The compositions in the different places of the parts are the same.Based on the above results,a high quality parts will be obtained by thixoforging process.
