Abstract:
As forging Al-alloy wheel hub has a good performance,it has been the inexorable trend of wheel hub manufacturing development.Swing-rolling technology is an important process.Numerical simulation of swing-rolling technology was performed using the software DEFORM-3D.The influence of main technique parameters in the forming process was researched and the appropriate initial forging temperature of 480 ℃ and hold down speed of 10 mm·s-1 were determined.Based on the determined forming parameters,the forming force of Φ558.8 mm Al-alloy wheel hub was studied and it was about 2335 kN which was coincident with the experimental result of 2362 kN.Numerical simulation result can be regarded as the theoretical basis for defining main parameters when these series of machines are developed.
