Abstract:
Spring-back is a phenomenon that is ordinary but difficult to solve in sheet metal stamping formation,which is much more evident to the U-shape part,especially to the high strength U-part sheet metal stamping formation.The spring-back mechanism and its forming characteristic of U-shaped parts in bending forming were introduced.The method of twice bending was introduced to control spring-back in high strength sheet metal carling.Simulation analysis of this method was done by finite element software named DYNAFORM and experiment was also done to certificate this method's correctness.Experimental result shows that the simulation analysis is correct and the method of twice bending to control carling's spring-back is feasible.The carling spring-back is controlled within the range of ±1.5mm of the part tolerance by this method in order to manufacture the parts that can meet the drawing requirement.
