Abstract:
The thixo-extrusion process and the conventional extrusion process of wrought magnesium were analyzed with computer numerical simulation based on finite element method.Some parameters such as loads of mold,stress,strain and temperature in these two forming process were compared.The results indicate that the thixo-extrusion process has some advantages such as small loads,small effective stress and well-proportioned temperatures. The thixo-extrusion and the conventional extrusion experiments were carried out.Experimental results tally with simulation results.
