Abstract：

The significance of CAPP application was introduced,and the development of the CAPP system for shafting parts was mainly discussed.The functions of the system were designed,and the key technology including the reason- ing machine of the expert system creation and database creation was discussed.The system standardized the selection of the process parameters by building a consummate expert system,which differed from the man-machine alternation searches structure that was adopted by current mass CAPP software.Using the system,process planning time was consumedly shortened.
